Spanish Revival in the South Bay

‘Authentic’ was the directive for this new California-formal home built from the ground up. Reclaimed ceiling beams, rustic glazed tile, historic light fixtures, Roman clay plaster walls and subtle pattern-on-patterns modernize Mediterranean design. The faded painted ceiling in the dining room and soft neutral palette of sea glass tones warm the stucco exterior.

Surfboards in a media and entertaining room and an ebonized oak staircase in a rotunda root this house in the current time and place.
