To entertain family and friends and host events, an agrarian barn was built adjacent to a main house in Santa Monica. Without the constraints of bedrooms or a traditional layout, this space uses reclaimed beams, wide plank wood flooring and a stone patio to recreate the feel of European outbuildings on a compound. Steel doors open onto the pool — complete with a custom water slide — situated below grade for extra privacy.
